Four candidates are seeking to represent Ward 8 on the D.C. Council, including former council member Trayon White Sr., who was expelled by the council in February following his indictment on a federal bribery charge.

The Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO, has endorsed Salim Adofo to be the next DC Councilmember for Ward 8, stating in its endorsement that “Salim has shown his clear solidarity with Ward 8 workers and working families, and we know he’s the right choice in this election.” Read more about the council’s endorsement here.

All registered Ward 8 voters should have received a ballot in the mail from the Board of Elections. Voters can return ballots by mail, at a ballot drop box or at any vote center. If returned by mail, ballots must be postmarked by July 15, the day of the election, and received by the Board of Elections by July 25.
