SUMMARY:PG County Raising the Bar Showcase and Graduation
DESCRIPTION:The Construction Trades Workforce Initiative (CTWI)\, in partnership with the Baltimore-DC Metro Building Trades Council\, operates a union-endorsed MC3 pre-apprenticeship program\, Raising the Bar\, that prepares local and diverse community members for careers in the trades. The program connects graduates to project labor agreement (PLA) projects\, helping contractors fulfill workforce goals identified in local PLAs\, enhancing job placement for targeted populations and fostering the growth of the next generation of builders. \nThe Raising the Bar Spring 2025 Prince Georges’ Cohort currently has 14 students (two women)\, of which three are already placed into union construction careers prior to even graduating. We are hoping that graduates from our program can work on the PLA school district projects in Prince Georges’ County. \nShow your support and attend the Showcase and Graduation on Friday\, May 23rd at 10am at Painters District Council 51 Apprenticeship Training Center (4700 Boston Way\, Lanham\, MD 20706)  \nRSVP to Beli@ctwi-btca.org \nEvent Schedule\n10:00 AM – 11:00 AM | Pre-Apprentice Showcase: Meet the Next Generation of Builders \n\nWelcome and introduction\nPre-apprentice presentations\nHands-on construction project showcase\n\n11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Graduation Celebration and Industry Insights\n\nGuest speakers\nCelebration of graduates\nClosing remarks\n\n12:00-1:00 PM: Lunch and Networking
