SUMMARY:Rally Against Mayor Bowser's 'Big Beautiful Budget'
DESCRIPTION:D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has proposed spending nearly $1 billion in D.C. taxpayer money to help the Commanders build a new RFK stadium\, plus nearby planned hotels and restaurants. Unfortunately\, she also wants to discontinue D.C.’s project labor agreement (PLA) law\, gutting what has been accepted public policy for more than a decade. \nJust two years ago\, the D.C. Council voted to lower the PLA threshold from $75 million to $50 million. Her proposal would result in fewer good union jobs at D.C. construction sites and make it easier for shady contractors to commit wage theft. \nJOIN US Wed. June 18 in calling for an RFK stadium deal that includes a commitment to good union construction jobs and high-quality hospitality jobs at the stadium and at future hotels and restaurants near the RFK site.
